If you’re a graphic designer and you don’t know about Pantone’s Color of the Year, you must be living under a rock!
This year’s color, Living Coral (Pantone 16-1546), was announced December of last year. The color matching maven describes it as “an animating and life-affirming coral hue with a golden undertone that energizes and enlivens with a softer edge. “
Pantone’s Color of the Year selections are often used to inspire fashion designers, publishers and graphic designers. They are even used to inspire makeup looks and tutorials (I see you, Fenty!)
This year’s color is sure to make a mark not just in the fashion and makeup world but in design as well.
Living Coral as a basis for design
Graphic design expert and writer Carrie Cousins has a lot of great things to say about Pantone’s selection for this year.
The color has already been inspiring great designs and can be used in gradients and color swatches. Cousins says that although the color can be perceived as feminine, it can still be used in various ways for all kinds of design projects that cater to everyone.
As you can see, Living Coral is a good bet for enhancing designs and creative projects.
