The Challenge

They say that “in business, timing is everything.” After Brad Adamson, Adamson Flooring’s founder and president, approached us to explore new branding and web design for his company, we knew this was a disruptor brand in the making. After 30 years serving Ontario construction companies and commercial builders, the Adamson Flooring executive team sensed an opportunity to expand into home flooring. Discovery meetings revealed that 30+ years as a trusted commercial flooring provider gave them a significant start. But giving the Adamson Flooring brand a retail-friendly makeover, while taking on Canada’s cutthroat DIY retail market, required more than pretty design.

The Result

Working closely with Adamson’s executive team, we got straight to work shaping an entirely new brand experience. From a corporate branding refresh and custom responsive website to a retail-friendly narrative and product brand design for Floorsense, Adamson’s branded line of wood, tile, and carpet flooring products — we tested, scoped and organized everything. More than a brand and product facelift (which they got), the result was a total brand renovation — purpose-built for 21st century consumers.

What the Client Received

Transforming Adamson Flooring from a local commercial flooring supplier to a retail-ready national brand was a radical task. A challenge that thrilled us to tackle. Over subsequent months, our teams worked carefully to strip Adamson’s existing brand and digital assets back to the studs. We delivered two new updated brand designs for Adamson Flooring and Floorsense, a custom-designed homeowner-friendly website, unique corporate brandscript, and content written to engage eager homeowners. Adamson got something more powerful: a firm inbound marketing foundation to expand their brand nationwide.
